Analyst EGRAG CRYPTO says XRP's long-term chart against gold is nearing a level that has preceded sharp gains for the token against the metal in the past. Gold has held a strong run while XRP still trades well below its 2025 high, and the analyst argues the token could start closing the gap even without gold pulling back.
Analyst EGRAG CRYPTO argues that XRP could soon start closing ground on gold rather than bitcoin or the dollar, pointing to a long-term chart he says is nearing a level that has flagged sharp XRP gains against the metal before.
The idea is not that XRP is backed by or directly linked to gold, but that the pair's relative performance may be reaching an important point on the analyst's chart. EGRAG has previously used the XRP/gold comparison to spot periods when the token accelerated sharply against the metal.
His latest chart again points to XRP eventually appreciating faster than gold if that historical pattern repeats. Such a shift would be notable since gold has held a strong run as investors seek protection from fiscal concerns, geopolitical uncertainty, and currency debasement. Meanwhile, XRP remains far below its 2025 all-time high despite recovering from a slide to $1.00 in August.
The argument is therefore a relative-value bet rather than a call on either asset alone: XRP does not need gold to fall, since it could simply appreciate faster for the ratio to turn higher. EGRAG, however, expects both moves at once — gold retracing while XRP accelerates.
