U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs added $2.39 billion in net inflows during the Sep. 21-25 trading week, with every session finishing positive. Over roughly the same stretch, about $2.52 billion left major exchanges including Binance, Coinbase, Kraken and Bitfinex. The parallel moves came as Bitcoin's price pulled back from above $87,000 to near $84,000.
U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs took in $2.39 billion in net inflows during the Sep. 21-25 trading week, with net inflows on all five days. BlackRock's IBIT led the group, collecting $1.16 billion over the five sessions. Bitcoin's price moved above $87,000 earlier in the week before pulling back, and crypto.news reported the token was holding near $84,000 despite continued ETF inflows by Friday.
Exchanges see billions in net outflows
From Sep. 22 to Sep. 24, Bitcoin worth $2.52 billion in net outflows left Binance, Coinbase, Kraken and Bitfinex. Binance let go of $1.19 billion on the first day alone. Combined with Coinbase, Kraken and Bitfinex, that day's total reached $1.57 billion.
The next two days were calmer: $438 million left exchanges on the second day and $511 million on the third. The scale, spread across multiple exchanges, means the move wasn't an isolated event.
ETFs keep buying through the pullback
Despite the outflows from exchanges, Bitcoin ETFs kept absorbing inflows across the same window. The funds added $714.7 million on Sep. 22. Inflows then eased to $346.9 million and $190.6 million over the next two days, for a three-day total of $1.25 billion. Total net assets across the tracked funds stood at $108.92 billion at press time.
Market signals turn cautious
Open interest climbed above $31 billion on Sep. 22 before falling the next day, and has held near $28.58 billion since. Funding rates likewise slid from above 0.01 on Sep. 21 to about 0.0031 at press time.
Bitcoin's RSI stood at 43.69 at press time, just below the neutral mark, while its MACD held above its signal line with both readings still under zero. A move back toward $86,000 remains possible, but a break below $83,000 could change the picture quickly.
