DeFi Development Corp. added 5,346 SOL to its treasury, bringing its holdings to approximately 2,595,612 SOL. The company also raised the annual dividend on its CHAD preferred stock from 13% to 14%.
DeFi Development Corp. added another 5,346 SOL to its treasury, bringing its total to approximately 2,595,612 SOL. The Nasdaq-listed company trades under the ticker DFDV.
The firm disclosed the purchase as of October 26, 2026. Its previous reported balance was 2,590,266 SOL in mid-October.
A run of SOL purchases
According to the company's disclosures, recent purchases include 47,706 SOL in late September, 22,070 SOL in early October and 3,983 SOL on October 16. The firm funds these purchases largely through public-market capital raises.
The company has raised hundreds of millions of dollars since 2025 to bankroll its SOL accumulation. It also runs its own validators and uses staking to earn rewards on its holdings.
CHAD dividend rises to 14%
Alongside the treasury update, the company announced a higher payout on its Variable Rate Series C Perpetual Preferred Stock, which trades as CHAD. The annual dividend rate rises from 13% to 14%, effective November 2, 2026.
Crypto Briefing notes that a higher preferred dividend can make the security more attractive to income-focused buyers, which can help the company keep raising capital. That capital can then flow back into SOL purchases.
The higher rate also carries a cost. A bigger dividend is a higher fixed obligation, and the company's main asset is a volatile token.
From real estate software to Solana treasury
The business rebranded in April 2025 and is now led by former Kraken executives. Its origins are in real estate software, and it has since reoriented around a Solana-centric treasury strategy.
The company describes itself as the first US public company with a primary SOL treasury reserve strategy. Crypto Briefing lists the pace of future purchases and how the 14% CHAD rate holds once it takes effect on November 2, 2026 among the things to watch.
