Stanley Druckenmiller used his first post on X to disclose an investment in Trade[XYZ], a Hyperliquid-based trading platform. The token HYPE rose nearly 20% on Thursday as Intercontinental Exchange announced a partnership with the platform for U.S. perpetual futures.
Billionaire investor Stanley Druckenmiller revealed an investment in Trade[XYZ] in his first post on X, without disclosing financial details. Trade[XYZ] partners with the New York Stock Exchange's parent company to bring Hyperliquid-based derivatives to the U.S.
Elon Musk replied to the post with a single word: "Interesting," according to CoinDesk. Trade[XYZ] founder Shoku answered that he would like to integrate the platform's perpetual futures into X, though CoinDesk reported no indication that the companies were discussing such an arrangement.
HYPE jumps as ICE backs a U.S. venue
Druckenmiller's post came as Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) announced a partnership with Trade[XYZ] to build a regulated U.S. venue for perpetual futures. The proposed ICE[XYZ] market would offer around-the-clock trading in contracts tied to cryptocurrencies, stocks, commodities and currencies, subject to approval from the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). ICE would also take a minority stake in Trade[XYZ], and financial terms weren't disclosed.
The token was up nearly 20% on Thursday. U.Today reported that the news lifted HYPE's daily trading volume to $796 million and pushed Hyperliquid's market cap above $24.2 billion.
Trade[XYZ] said its existing platforms have generated more than $650 billion in trading volume in just over a year. No launch date has been announced for the U.S. venue.
A family office with indirect exposure
Druckenmiller's family office previously reported another link to the Hyperliquid ecosystem. A filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission shows Duquesne Family Office held 2.94 million shares of Hyperliquid Strategies Inc. (PURR), valued at $23.15 million as of June 30.
Hyperliquid Strategies is a Nasdaq-listed digital-asset treasury company focused on accumulating HYPE. That makes the stake an indirect exposure to the token, not a disclosed direct holding. The position appeared in Duquesne's August filing, which does not establish whether the family office still holds the shares.
