Bitcoin.com News asked nine AI chatbots for a bitcoin price forecast for Dec. 31, 2026. The answers cited in the report range from $82,482 to $89,687, with Deepseek the outlier. None of the models offered a bearish base case.
Bitcoin keeps circling the $80,000 threshold, and nine AI chatbots now put its year-end price between $82,482 and $112,000 in a Bitcoin.com News experiment.
Bitcoin traded around $84,000 a month ago and approached $85,000 last week before retreating toward $79,000 over the weekend. Its latest rebound to nearly $82,000 came alongside a rally in Asian chip stocks and fresh inflows into U.S. spot bitcoin ETF products this week.
Fed hold keeps uncertainty in place
Wednesday's Federal Reserve decision to hold rates steady left the outlook unsettled. Persistent inflation and the possibility of a December rate increase complicate any sustained recovery, according to the report.
The outlet put the same prompt to each model, asking for one exact price on Dec. 31, 2026. It questioned Claude Opus, Pi AI, Grok, ChatGPT-6.1 Sol High Intelligence, Gemini Flash, Mistral Vibe Think Mode, Deepseek Deepthink Mode, Qwen 3.7 Plus Thinking Mode and Venice AI.
Most forecasts run from $82,482 to $89,687
Pi AI gave $82,482, and Grok forecast $85,000. ChatGPT-6.1 and Venice AI each named $88,000, while Gemini Flash projected $88,500. Qwen 3.7 Plus answered $89,687.
Grok, ChatGPT-6.1, Gemini Flash and Qwen each cited spot ETF flows or institutional demand in their reasoning.
Deepseek breaks from the pack
The report says the absence of a bearish base case may be the most revealing signal, and that the uniform optimism deserves scrutiny, because agreement among chatbots is not evidence that each independently found the same opportunity. It singles out the Deepseek answer as the outlier.
When asked to explain it, the model replied: "I don’t know why that instance produced $112,000."
