Nvidia expanded its stock-repurchase authorization by $150 billion, lifting its total buyback program to $235 billion through January 2028. The move underscores a widening split in Big Tech, with Alphabet and Meta halting their own buybacks to redirect cash toward AI spending instead.
Nvidia expanded its stock-repurchase authorization by $150 billion. The move brings its total buyback program to $235 billion through January 2028.
Nicholas Colas, co-founder of DataTrek Research, said in a Tuesday note that the fresh authorization points to a widening gap between the chipmaker and the rest of the tech industry. Alphabet and Meta, by contrast, have halted their own share repurchases and reallocated the money to their AI initiatives.
