The Nasdaq Composite and Nasdaq 100 are trading at record highs, but Nvidia is the only Magnificent Seven stock joining them at a new all-time high today. Microsoft, Meta, Alphabet and Apple are each at different stages of their own technical setups, holding support or still working to clear resistance.
Nvidia reached a new all-time high at $237.88 today, taking out its previous May peak of $236.54. The move also pushed price above the swing area between $230.32 and $233.21, which now becomes a support reference on any pullback. A break back below $230 would raise questions about the breakout's strength.
The other four stocks tell a more mixed story. An index at a record high does not mean every component is doing the same — each carries its own trend and its own support and resistance levels.
Microsoft and Apple defend intraday breaks
Microsoft shares traded near $516, inside a swing area between $513.50 and $517.60. The price moved above that zone to $522.50 earlier today, but buyers could not hold the break, and it rotated back inside the range. Buyers now need to defend $513.50 and clear $517.60 again before the October 2025 high of $553.72 and the all-time high of $556.26 come back into view.
Apple hit its all-time high of $345.34 on September 21 before correcting. Yesterday the stock briefly dipped below its 200-hour moving average, then at $327.32, before closing back above it. Today's rebound reached $334.54, putting the stock within range of the 100-hour moving average at $335.48, with the 200-hour average as support.
Meta holds support, Alphabet reclaims its 200-day average
Meta rallied from a late-July low near $523, with the launch of Muse helping drive September's surge toward $780. Since peaking on September 25, the stock corrected to near $713, where buyers stepped in around the rising 100-hour moving average at $715.32. Today's bounce reached $741.58, but the stock still needs to clear the $745-$760 swing area before this year's high near $780 and the 2025 range of $790-$796 become realistic targets.
Alphabet fell below its 200-day moving average at $338.92 yesterday, touching a low of $335.61. Today's recovery pushed the stock back above that level, though the rally to $345.77 stalled near the 100-hour moving average at $345.50. A September 22 break above the 100-day moving average failed quickly, and buyers now need to hold above the 200-day line and reclaim the shorter-term resistance to repair that damage. The all-time high of $408.61, set on May 15, remains well above the current price.
A break above resistance only counts once price stays above it. For now, Nvidia is the only one of the five to make that case stick — the rest are still fighting to prove their own breaks can hold.
