OnePay, the Walmart-backed fintech, now accepts USDC deposits straight into OnePay Checking for select US customers. The stablecoin converts to dollars automatically, with no conversion fees at launch.
OnePay began accepting USDC deposits into OnePay Checking on October 30, 2026, for select US customers. The stablecoin converts to US dollars automatically and lands in the user's existing checking balance.
How the USDC deposit feature works
Inside the OnePay app, users generate a deposit address for USDC and send the stablecoin to it. OnePay then converts the funds into dollars and credits the checking balance. The company is not charging conversion fees at launch.
Deposits are supported from 12 blockchains, including Tempo, Base, Solana and Ethereum. Stripe's Bridge platform handles compliance checks, manages the deposit addresses and runs the conversion.
Freelancers and gig workers stand to gain most
Crypto Briefing describes freelancers and gig workers paid in USDC as the clearest beneficiaries. For them, the current process often involves an exchange account, a sell order and a bank withdrawal. OnePay compresses that chain into a single deposit.
The launch comes as stablecoin use grows. Stablecoin transaction volume reached approximately $1.79 trillion in June 2026, a 125% increase year-over-year.
OnePay builds on earlier crypto steps
The company began offering Bitcoin and Ethereum trading in January 2025 and added more tokens in March 2026. In April 2026, it started a partnership with Tempo, which now appears on the list of supported networks for USDC deposits.
The feature remains limited to select US customers, and the no-fee structure applies at launch.
