OPEC+ has left its oil production quotas unchanged even as Middle East conflicts stir supply concerns, keeping existing output cuts in place through the end of 2026. Brent crude trades near $96 a barrel, close to a recent high, while prediction markets assign only a small chance of a new record price this year.

OPEC+ has decided to maintain its current oil production quotas, according to a report by Bloomberg Markets. The decision comes amid ongoing conflicts in the Middle East, which had raised concerns about potential disruptions to oil supply.

The alliance's choice to hold output steady suggests a commitment to its existing policy framework, including production cuts set to continue through the end of 2026. Brent crude is currently trading near $96 per barrel, close to a recent high after a significant increase over the past month.

Still, prediction markets aren't pricing in a fresh record any time soon. Odds of crude oil reaching a new all-time high by September 30 sit at just 1.2% YES, while the December 31 market shows slightly higher expectations at 10.5% YES, suggesting some anticipation of future catalysts.

OPEC's Mohammad Sanusi Barkindo and Saudi Arabia's Energy Minister Abdulaziz bin Salman Al Saud may offer further insight or adjustments that could shift market sentiment as geopolitical developments in the Middle East continue to unfold.
