Ripple and Securitize have added a mechanism letting holders of BlackRock's BUIDL and VanEck's VBILL tokenized funds swap directly into Ripple's RLUSD stablecoin. The announcement lands alongside fresh data showing XRP whales bought more than 470 million tokens in five days.
XRP whales have acquired more than 470 million tokens, worth over $720 million, in the past five days, according to analyst Ali Martinez. The accumulation follows a purchase of over 1.5 billion tokens in a 96-hour span the week before.
Ripple and Securitize Add an RLUSD Off-Ramp
Ripple and Securitize announced a new smart contract that lets holders of BlackRock's BUIDL and VanEck's VBILL tokenized funds exchange their shares for RLUSD around the clock. Both funds are the first tokenization products the two asset managers have put on public blockchains, and the swap gives holders an additional stablecoin off-ramp without giving up on-chain yield exposure.
According to Ripple's SVP of Stablecoins, Jack McDonald: "RLUSD is for institutional use, offering regulatory clarity, stability, and real utility." It marks the first official integration of RLUSD into Securitize's platform, and both companies said they plan further collaborations. Securitize also intends to integrate with the XRP Ledger to widen access to its broader ecosystem.
Whales Extend a Buying Spree
Martinez noted an inverse head-and-shoulders pattern continuing to form on XRP's daily chart, a setup he said could bring the bullish breakout closer.
RLUSD and XRP Still Play Different Roles
The BlackRock and VanEck tie-up sits alongside Ripple's wider payments push. Ripple's settlement network supports RLUSD, USDC, USDT, or fiat depending on a business's jurisdiction and has processed over $100 billion in payment volume across more than 60 markets. XRP itself keeps functioning as the bridge asset behind Ripple's On-Demand Liquidity model, converting a source currency into XRP and back without pre-funded accounts. That structure keeps RLUSD's fixed dollar peg distinct from XRP's floating market price, even as both assets move through the same settlement infrastructure.
