Robinhood posted $1.42 billion in Q3 2026 revenue, up 12% from a year ago, while its crypto revenue fell 55%. Event contracts and options revenue rose, but net income dropped 14% and costs outpaced revenue.
Robinhood reported $1.42 billion in Q3 2026 revenue, up 12% from a year ago. Its crypto business went the other way, however, with revenue down 55% to about $120 million.
Event contracts and options revenue rise
Transaction-based revenue rose 19% to $867 million, according to Robinhood's report. Event contracts, which trade between 1 cent and $1 and pay $1 at settlement, brought in $173 million, a sixfold increase.
Options revenue climbed 31% to $399 million, while equities gained 41% to add $121 million. Crypto was the odd one out, as the $120 million recorded in the period marked a 55% decline, per the firm.
Trading volume also fell. Volume on Robinhood's main app dropped 48% year-over-year to $21 billion, and Bitstamp volume fell 28% to $29 billion.
Assets grow as profit slips
Net deposits reached $15.7 billion, and total platform assets climbed to $396 billion, a 19% jump. The report attributed this to higher equity valuations. CFO Shiv Verma said: "our highest quarter ever for revenues", pointing to customers trusting the firm with more assets.
Profit moved the other way. Net income hit $476 million, 14% lower than the same quarter last year, and it includes $0.07 per share, or $67 million, of unrealized losses that were mostly tied to Robinhood Venture Fund 1's mark-to-market.
Costs grew faster than revenue. Operating expenses rose 16% to $739 million on higher credit loss provisions. Net interest revenue came down to $415 million, a slide of about 9% that Robinhood attributed to lower securities lending and short-term interest rates.
