Saudi Arabia-backed Gulf International Bank (UK) disclosed a $3 million stake in Michael Saylor's Strategy, which gives it indirect Bitcoin exposure. The bank left its holding unchanged in the third quarter of 2026.
Gulf International Bank (UK) holds 19,842 shares of Strategy, according to a U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission Form 13F filing covering the end of September. The London-based bank owns no Bitcoin directly: its exposure comes through the world's largest corporate holder of the cryptocurrency.
Those shares were worth about $3.04 million in the third quarter, though current market estimates put the value near $2.9 million. The filing states that the bank did not adjust its Strategy holding in the third quarter of 2026.
How the bank's Strategy position changed
The position is not new. Gulf International Bank first reported a Strategy holding in the second quarter of 2024, when it held 1,285 shares of MicroStrategy worth about $1.77 million. That equals 12,850 shares after the company's 10-for-1 stock split in August 2024.
By June 2025, the bank owned 12,774 shares worth about $5.16 million, its highest quarter-end valuation reported so far. At the end of 2025, it held 13,249 shares worth about $2.01 million.
The bank then added 6,958 shares in the first quarter of 2026, lifting its total to 20,207 shares, an increase of about 53%. In the second quarter, it sold 365 shares, leaving 19,842 shares worth about $1.72 million at the end of June.
Strategy's own Bitcoin stack
Strategy, led by Executive Chairman Michael Saylor, reported its latest purchase on Oct. 19. That purchase brought the company's holdings to 848,517 BTC.
