Solana ETF inflows dropped 97% for the week ending Sept. 4, leaving the funds with just $4.9 million in net inflows versus $142.7 million the prior week. Bitcoin funds took in more weekly capital over the same stretch, while a separate CFTC report showed leveraged funds still net short SOL despite trimming that position.

The six Solana ETFs tracked by Farside Investors drew $4.9 million in net inflows for the week ending Sept. 4, down from $142.7 million in the prior five trading sessions. The rounded 97% decline measures the change in weekly net inflows, not a fall in the funds' assets or in SOL's price.

Bitcoin funds pull ahead as Ethereum also slows

Ethereum funds slowed too, taking in $215.3 million versus $815.7 million the week before. Bitcoin funds moved the other way, drawing $986.7 million, up from $924.5 million. All three cohorts still finished the week net positive.

Only three Solana products saw flows

Non-zero net-flow entries during the week were confined to BSOL, FSOL and GSOL. VSOL, TSOL and SOEZ showed zero net flow on every session, though a zero figure doesn't rule out offsetting creations and redemptions.

On Sept. 4 alone, Solana ETFs recorded $5.2 million in net outflows. Ethereum and Bitcoin funds took in $25.9 million and $174.6 million that same day. Solana's full week still finished net positive.

CME leveraged funds trim their short bets

A separate CFTC positioning report showed leveraged funds holding 1,069 long and 3,615 short futures-equivalent contracts in CME's SOL futures as of Sept. 1. At 500 SOL per contract, that put the net short at 1,273,000 SOL, down from 2,166,500 SOL on Aug. 25.

The move wasn't purely short-covering: the residual long column rose by 577 contracts while the residual short column fell by 1,210. Leveraged funds remained net short overall, and the Sept. 1 snapshot predates the ETF week's close, so it can't be tied to specific trades or to SOL's price moves.

Sustained demand would need repeated positive weeks across more products, plus data on gross creations and redemptions rather than net totals alone.
