Solana says it has processed $5 trillion in stablecoin volume so far in 2026, with more than two months of the year left. The network holds about 5% of stablecoin supply, yet it captured a much larger share of transfer volume during peak months.
Solana has processed $5 trillion in stablecoin volume so far in 2026, according to the network's official account. The tally runs through October 22, so the year still has more than two months left.
A second report says the figure surpasses the $3 trillion recorded in 2025. The number measures activity, not holdings, because it totals the value of stablecoin tokens changing hands on the network.
September sets records on supply and transfers
Stablecoin supply on Solana climbed to a record $17.51 billion in September. That month the network also logged 557 million stablecoin transfers, and no other tracked chain recorded more.
Solana holds only about 5% of total stablecoin supply. Yet adjusted transfer data shows it captured between 32-36% of global stablecoin transfer volume during peak months in 2026. Supply has eased slightly since September, but cumulative transaction volumes have kept growing.
Payment firms and Samsung look at Solana
At Money20/20 USA, Amir A. Valliani of the Solana Foundation pointed to major players such as Western Union using stablecoin technology. Western Union and other payment firms are exploring or expanding stablecoin usage on Solana.
Samsung, meanwhile, plans to integrate USDC transfers into its Galaxy wallet, a move that could potentially reach 82 million US devices. The report notes the plan is not yet live, and the device figure describes potential reach, not active users.
The activation of Solana's Alpenglow network upgrade is expected to bring transaction finality down to approximately 150 milliseconds. That improvement still has to perform under real-world load.
Why the volume figure needs caution
Transfer volume can be inflated by automated trading, arbitrage bots, and funds cycling repeatedly between the same parties. The research behind the 32-36% share uses adjusted transfer volume, which attempts to filter some of that noise.
