Spot Bitcoin ETFs booked $2.39 billion in net inflows this week, pushing 2026 year-to-date flows into positive territory for the first time since June's record outflows. Ethereum ETFs also rebounded, adding nearly $700 million and pushing cumulative inflows back toward $14 billion.
Bitcoin ETFs turn green for the year
Spot Bitcoin ETFs closed the week with $2.39 billion in net inflows, lifting cumulative net inflows to $57.55 billion. The week began with Monday inflows near $1 billion, a multi-month daily record, before tapering through the rest of the week. Tuesday brought $714.75 million. Wednesday added $346.98 million. Thursday brought in $190.65 million, and Friday closed the week with $134.47 million.
The swing marks a reversal from earlier in the year. Investors pulled a record $4.51 billion from the funds in June. That followed $2.43 billion in net outflows in May. Those two months had left the funds nearly $5.5 billion in the red for the year.
Inflows accelerate through the summer
However, the trend shifted in July with a modest $172 million in net inflows, then accelerated. The funds attracted $3.52 billion in August. They are up $2.7 billion so far in September. As a result, 2026 year-to-date flows now stand at $925 million in the green.
At the same time, Bitcoin remains 40% away from its all-time high. Yet cumulative spot ETF flows sit only 10% away from their own all-time highs. According to Crypto Rover: "institutional money is accumulating like never before and has shortened the bear market dramatically."
Ether ETFs erase last week's losses
Spot Ethereum ETFs also had a strong week, attracting nearly $700 million and erasing the prior week's losses. Cumulative net inflows for the Ether funds are back up to nearly $14 billion.
