The U.S. national average price of diesel topped $6 a gallon for the first time on record, fuel-tracking service GasBuddy said Thursday. GasBuddy analyst Patrick De Haan said the increase raises costs across trucking, deliveries and grocery runs.
The U.S. national average price of diesel crossed $6 a gallon for the first time ever on Thursday, according to GasBuddy, the fuel-price tracking service. GasBuddy said the fuel had never previously reached that level.
GasBuddy analyst Patrick De Haan said on social media platform X that the higher pump price raises costs for every truck, every delivery and every package moving through the supply chain. He added that grocery runs are affected as well, tying the pump price directly to the cost consumers see at the store.
