VanEck launched its Wealth Builder ETF, ticker WBMO, which combines stocks, bonds, real assets and indirect Bitcoin exposure in one actively managed fund. The net expense ratio is 0.26%, down from 0.33% after fee waivers.
VanEck launched WBMO on Oct. 27, an actively managed ETF that holds global stocks, bonds, real assets and Bitcoin exposure in a single portfolio. The fund does not invest directly in digital assets, according to the company's announcement.
VanEck turns an adviser portfolio into an ETF
WBMO is built from VanEck's existing Wealth Builder model portfolios, which financial advisers previously accessed through third-party wealth management platforms. VanEck selects the underlying investments, manages their allocations and rebalances the portfolio.
The launch announcement describes an open-architecture approach that uses both VanEck funds and third-party ETFs. The portfolio pairs global equities and fixed income with real assets, including gold.
Bitcoin exposure runs through ETPs
The fund gets its cryptocurrency exposure through digital asset exchange-traded products. Certain investments sit inside a wholly owned Cayman Islands subsidiary, and the fund's stake in that subsidiary is generally capped at 25% of total assets at each fiscal quarter-end.
That cap covers several investment categories, however. The filing sets no 25% Bitcoin target, and WBMO's allocations depend on macroeconomic analysis, capital-market expectations and assessments of each underlying product.
Fee waivers cut the cost to 0.26%
The fee table lists a 0.15% management fee and estimated acquired-fund expenses of 0.18%, which produce a 0.33% gross expense ratio. A 0.07% waiver brings the net ratio to 0.26%.
Crypto Briefing reports that VanEck has committed to covering the fund's offering costs through at least February 1, 2028.
VanEck's separate NODE fund shows how the firm has handled crypto exposure elsewhere. In its September commentary, VanEck reported that NODE's Bitcoin ETP exposure had risen to 16.8% at September-end, from roughly 7% at June-end. Those figures describe NODE's portfolio, not WBMO's.
