Netflix Earnings Date: Next Report, Time and Forecasts

Netflix reports Q3 2026 earnings on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, after the US market close. The shareholder letter goes live at about 4:01 p.m. ET (1:01 p.m. PT), and management answers analyst questions in a live video interview at 4:45 p.m. ET.

Analysts expect $0.82 per share on $12.87 billion in revenue, almost exactly what Netflix guided to in July. Matching that may not be enough. In July, Netflix beat on EPS and the stock still dropped 8.8% the next session after its Q3 outlook came in below estimates. Options now price a 7.3% move in either direction.

Netflix earnings calendar: past and upcoming dates

Netflix is one of the first large tech and media names to report each season. It publishes roughly two and a half to three weeks after a quarter closes, on a Tuesday or Thursday, after the bell.

Quarter Report date
Q3 2025 Tuesday, October 21, 2025
Q4 2025 Tuesday, January 20, 2026
Q1 2026 Thursday, April 16, 2026
Q2 2026 Thursday, July 16, 2026
Q3 2026 Tuesday, October 20, 2026
Q4 2026 Expected mid-to-late January 2027 (not yet confirmed)

Netflix announces each date about a month ahead. Until that release comes out, any date you see on a calendar site is an estimate built from this pattern.

How the Netflix earnings call works

Netflix does not run a classic dial-in conference call. It posts a shareholder letter with the quarter’s figures and next quarter’s forecast, then streams a video interview in which management answers questions submitted by sell-side analysts. The first price reaction starts as soon as the letter is out, 44 minutes before the interview begins.

What’s in the Netflix earnings report

  • Revenue for the quarter, split by region: US and Canada, Europe/Middle East/Africa, Latin America and Asia-Pacific.
  • Operating income and operating margin. Netflix guides on margin, so it is the profit figure the market checks first.
  • Diluted earnings per share (EPS), the headline number compared with consensus.
  • Free cash flow and share buybacks.
  • Guidance for the next quarter (revenue, operating margin, EPS) and any change to the full-year outlook.
  • Commentary on advertising, pricing, live events, the content slate and engagement.

Why Netflix no longer reports subscribers

For years the subscriber count was the headline. Netflix dropped it from quarterly reporting in 2025, after saying it ended 2025 with more than 325 million paid memberships, and now points investors to revenue, margin and engagement.

One more thing before comparing numbers: EPS looks small next to older data because Netflix split its stock 10-for-1, effective November 17, 2025. An $0.82 estimate today compares with about $8.20 on the old share count.

What to expect from Netflix earnings

Consensus vs. company guidance

Netflix set the bar itself in its Q2 2026 shareholder letter. The consensus below is the Zacks estimate as of October 13.

Metric Netflix Q3 guidance Consensus Q3 2025 actual
Revenue $12.86bn $12.87bn $11.51bn
Revenue growth (YoY) 11.7% 11.8% 17%
Operating margin 33.2% n/a 28.2%
Diluted EPS $0.82 $0.82 $0.59 (split-adjusted)

Consensus sits almost exactly on the company’s forecast, so the quarter is measured against Netflix’s own number. The year-on-year EPS gain of about 40% is largely a base effect: Q3 2025 earnings were cut by a $619 million charge tied to a Brazilian tax dispute.

Full-year targets and the Q4 math

The same letter puts 2026 revenue at $51.0bn to $51.4bn, the operating margin at 31.5% and advertising revenue at about $3bn, roughly double 2025.

Q1 revenue was $12.25bn and Q2 $12.56bn. Add the $12.86bn Q3 guide, and Netflix needs about $13.5bn in Q4 to hit the midpoint of its annual range. A cut to that range on October 20 would signal a softer Q4.

What could move the stock

Advertising. Netflix does not break out ad revenue, so the market works from estimates. S&P Global put Q2 ad revenue at about $618 million, below expectations, Benzinga reported. Reaching $3bn for the year needs a strong Q4, and live sport is part of the plan: NFL games on Thanksgiving Eve and Christmas Day sit in the quarter.

Engagement. This is the bear case. HSBC cut Netflix to Hold on September 22 and lowered its target from $96 to $76, saying a “near-term recovery in engagement looks unlikely,” TheWrap reported. The bank pointed to Nielsen data giving Netflix 7.8% of US TV time in July. Netflix’s own letter shows viewing hours up 2% in the first half of 2026.

Q4 guidance. The Q3 outlook triggered July’s sell-off, so the Q4 forecast is the number to read first. A revenue guide near $13.5bn with the 31.5% annual margin unchanged keeps the year on track.

Life after Warner Bros. Netflix walked away from its agreed $72 billion Warner Bros. deal earlier this year and collected a $2.8 billion termination fee. Paramount completed its purchase of Warner Bros. Discovery on October 6. Netflix is licensing instead: on October 2, Disney agreed to license more films and series to it, including Ice Age and Percy Jackson and the Olympians.

How Netflix stock reacts to earnings

The Netflix share price was near $70 on October 14. By late September it was down about 24% for the year and close to its July low of about $65, according to Stocktwits. The same report shows how far apart analysts are: Wells Fargo at Underweight with a $57 target, HSBC at Hold with $76, Deutsche Bank at Buy with $95 and Evercore ISI at Outperform with $110.

Options data compiled by Bloomberg, cited by Investing.com on October 13, implies a 7.3% move in either direction after the report. The same source gives this history:

Report Implied move Actual move
July 2026 7.3% −8.8%
April 2026 6.1% −2.1%
January 2026 7.7% −4.5%
October 2025 7.1% −8.4%
July 2025 6.3% −6.1%
April 2025 5% +2.9%
January 2025 8.3% +13.5%
October 2024 7.3% +5%

The source does not specify the expiry used for the implied move or the window for the actual move, so treat the figures as approximate. Two things still hold: the stock moved more than implied in three of eight reports, so the implied range is not a ceiling, and it fell after each of the last five.

Why the move happens overnight

Results arrive after the close, so the first reaction plays out in thin after-hours trading, and the stock can open the next morning far from the previous close. A stop loss placed 3% below the close does not protect you from a stock that opens 9% lower; it fills at the first available price. Size positions as if the full implied move could go against you overnight.

The knock-on effect on the Nasdaq 100

Netflix is a member of the Nasdaq 100 and one of the season’s early reporters, so a large move can spill into the Nasdaq price and into other ad-funded media stocks the next morning.

How to prepare for a Netflix earnings release

  1. Mark the levels before the report, starting with the July low around $65.
  2. Write down the numbers that matter: $12.87bn revenue, $0.82 EPS, a Q4 revenue guide near $13.5bn and the 31.5% full-year margin.
  3. Decide in advance whether you hold through the release. Holding means accepting gap risk. Waiting means trading on October 21 with the numbers known, from wherever the gap leaves the price.
  4. Watch the interview at 1:45 p.m. PT. Management’s answers can shift the after-hours move in either direction.
  5. Size for the gap. Assume a 7% to 9% overnight move against you and check that your account can absorb it.
