XRP is consolidating around $1.40 heading into a week with two events that could shape its next move, starting with a September 15 Senate procedural vote on the CLARITY Act. Analysts point to technical setups targeting $2 and beyond, though one warns a drop below $1.30 could reopen a slide toward $1.00.
XRP is holding near $1.40 as it heads into a week that could decide whether its technical setups play out toward a new multi-month peak around $2.00.
Two events land a day apart
The first lands on September 15, when the US Senate is scheduled to hold its first procedural vote on the CLARITY Act. A second event follows just a day later. Together, the two are seen as the near-term catalysts that could determine XRP's direction.
Analysts eye $2 and beyond
Analyst Celal Kucuker described the token's current technical structure as "amazing", arguing that several formations point toward the same target of around $2.30. Given XRP's current price of around $1.39, that would mark another 60% surge if it materializes.
However, XRP would first need to clear resistance levels that halted its progress in the past. Analyst Bird highlighted a large concentration of liquidity between approximately $1.60 and $1.85, followed by an even more significant pocket at $2.00.
Based on that liquidity map, Bird estimated a 70% probability of XRP moving higher through $1.50 and $1.60 before targeting the next region. Still, liquidity maps change constantly and do not guarantee direction, something Bird also acknowledged.
Analyst CW offered another bullish scenario, noting that XRP's previous correction bottomed around the 0.5 Fib retracement before rebounding above the 0.618 level. The current version of that Fibonacci retracement expansion would bring XRP to over $2.10.
Downside risk below $1.30
The bearish scenario becomes more relevant if XRP loses $1.30, which could open the door to another dip toward $1.20 or even $1.00.
